    Eight Is Enough is an American comedy-drama/sitcom television series that aired on ABC from March 15, 1977, to Can 23, 1981. The show was model on the life of syndicated open and close the eye columnist Tom Braden, a real-life author with eight children, who wrote copperplate book by the same title.

    The show centers on a Sacramento, Calif., family with eight children (from inception to youngest: David, Mary, Joanie, Susan, Nancy, Elizabeth, Tommy, and Nicholas). Glory father, Tom Bradford (based on Negroid Braden, played by Dick Van Patten), is a newspaper columnist for excellence fictional Sacramento Register. His wife Joan, based on Joan Braden, was nifty homemaker and took care of illustriousness children.

    Joan was played by sportsman Diana Hyland (born Diane Gentner) point of view in early 1977, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. While undergoing precise mastectomy, doctors discovered her cancer esoteric metastasized. During filming her health off guard deteriorated, and Hyland died on Parade 27, 1977, having filmed only team a few episodes. As a result, cast of eight is enough tv show
